Slatington in Lehigh County PA

Slatington PA Slatington is a borough in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. It is located in the eastern part of the state, about 15 miles away from Allentown and 70 miles away from Philadelphia. The borough has a history of being home to several industries such structural iron, knit goods and silk slate quarries. According to the United States Census Bureau of 2000, Slatington has a population of 4,434. The borough has a total area of 1.4 square miles of which, 1.3 square miles of it is land and 0.1 square miles of it is water. Slatington is located at 738 feet above sea level. The racial demographics of Slatington are 96.23% White, 1.42% African American, 0.20% Native American, 0.38% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.77% from other races, and 0.97% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.03% of the population. Slatington had approximately 1,750 households. The median income for a household in the borough is $36,531, and the median income for a family is $43,542.

Lehigh County is home to the Lehigh Valley International Airport, which has flights to the Midwest, the east cost and Canada.
